Port plums with vanilla crème fraîche
Plums are a summer fruit that can be enjoyed picked straight from the tree but this recipe shows that eating them doesn't always have to feel like an everyday experience.
4 plums 200ml Port 20ml brown sugar 1 vanilla pod 200ml crème fraîche
1. Preheat the grill. Cut a cross through the base of each plum and place in a muffin tray, cut sides facing up, one per cup. Pour 50ml of Port over each plum and sprinkle brown sugar on top.

2. Grill the plums for 8-10 minutes or until soft and the skins begin to pull back.

3. Scrape the seeds out of the vanilla pod and add to the crème fraîche.

4. Serve the hot, grilled plums with a scoop of the flavoured crème fraîche.
