Barbecue Sauce
An easy, healthy way to add a kick to barbecued meat or vegetarian recipes too! Make a large batch and can it - a great inexpensive way to have barbecue sauce on hand whenever you need it.
1 1/4 cups ketchup
1/2 stalk celery, diced
1/2 small onion
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons sucanat or demerrara sugar
1 clove garlic
1/4 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon chilipowder
1/4 teaspoon cumin
salt and pepper to taste
Cook covered on low for 10 minutes. Blend in food processor or blender. Yields approximately 2 cups of sauce.
